ICI
Cuprinol Decking Stain is a low build, solvent
based, semi-transparent, matt finish specially
formulated for all types of timber. The
most appropriate areas to be used are the
timber decking. It enhances the colour of
the wood and provides tough, durable protection
that resists flaking and peeling. Decking
Stain is water repellent to help prevent
the wood cracking and splitting. It is also
suitable for use on other garden wood, softwoods
and hardwood, rough or treated surface,
interior or exterior and new or aged woods.
It is safe with plants and pets when dry.
Available in both 1 and 5 litre can. |

Composition
Cuprinol Decking Stain contains resins, light-fast
pigments, solvents, driers, water repellents and other
additives.

| Preparation
|
1. Pretreated Timber
Surface should be clean, dry and free from surface
coating and grease before application.
2. Unpreserved Timber
Treat with a suitable wood preserver (non-bituminous
wood preservative) and allow to dry 2-5 days before
applying ICI Cuprinol Decking Stain.
3. New / Bare Wood
Wipe with ICI Cuprinol Thinner for all Purposes (T850-350)
to remove any nature oils / resins, if necessary.
4. Weathered Wood
Completely remove all grey wood by sanding back to
clean and sound wood.
5. Painted or Varnished Wood
Sand off or use hot air blower to strip existing coatings
to condition of bare wood. Then treated as bare wood.
Chemical striper or paint remover are not recommended.
The surface must be rinsed off with suitable solvent
to clean sound wood.
6. Sound Woodstained Wood
Wash and scrub with ICI Cuprinol Thinner for All Purposes
(T850-350) to remove dirt and grease and allow to
dry.
7. Exterior Timber or Seaside Environmental
All nailing must be gulvanized or stainless nail.

| Application |
1. Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during
use.
2. Brush on evenly along the grain by planning the
continuity of the paint area to avoid overlap. Do
not load brush heavily.
3. Do not apply before, during or after raining and
high humidity condition.
4. Two coasts will create low gloss on the paint film.
5. On previously stained wood, apply not more than
2 coats. Normally only 1 coat is recommended.
6. For maximum performance, ICI Cuprinol Decking Stain
should be applied to all sides of the wood prior to
fabrication
7. Ensure the first coat is dry before recoating.
Avoid heavy wear for a few dats after application.

| Safety,
Health and Environmental Information |
Flammable.
Keep away from source of ignition and store in cool
place. Ensure good ventilation during application
and drying. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately
with plenty of water. Remove splashes from skin with
soap and water. Do not take internally. Close the
lid and keep away from children. |
