ICI Cuprinol Woodstain is a high quality medium built solvent based semi-transparent exterior and interior woodstain. It is ideal for softwood and hardwood joinery-doors, windows, door and window frames, fascias, cladding, and garden furniture, etc. Suitable for use on new or bare woods, and for redecoration. ICI Cupronol Woodstain accommodates the natural movement of the wood and is microporous (moisture vapour permeable), allowing water absorbed by the wood in service to dry out naturally. Its flexibility, adhesion and microporous properties resist the tendency to flake, peel or blister, unlike traditional paints and vanishes. It contains no added lead and no added mercury for environmental safe. Available in both 1 and 5 litre can.

Cuprinol Woodstain contains a structured alkyd resin, light-fast pigments, driers, water repellants and other additives in a white spririt carrier solvent.

Thinning : If needed, thin down with ICI Cuprinol Thinner for All Purposes (T850-350). Not more than 5% for brushing are allowable to appropriate viscosity.
Spray Recommendation : Not recommend
Cleaning Up : Clean all equipments while still wet with ICI Cuprinol Thinner for All Purposes (T850-350).

1. Pretreated Timber
Surface should be clean, dry and free from surface coating and grease before application.

2. Unpreserved Timber
Treat with a suitable wood preserver (non-bituminous wood preservative) and allow to dry 2-5 days before applying ICI Cuprinol Woodstain. Seek advice for specific treatment methods for timber used in ground contact.

3. New / Bare Wood
Wipe with ICI Cuprinol Thinner for all Purposes (T850-350) to remove any nature oils / resins, if necessary.

4. Weathered Wood
Completely remove all grey wood by sanding back to clean and sound wood.

5. Painted or Varnished Wood
Sand off or use hot air blower to strip existing coatings to condition of bare wood. Then treated as bare wood. Chemical striper or paint remover are not recommended. The surface must be rinsed off with suitable solvent to clean sound wood.

6. Sound Woodstained Wood
Wash and scrub with ICI Cuprinol Thinner for All Purposes (T850-350) to remove dirt and grease and allow to dry.

7. Exterior Timber or Seaside Environmental
All nailing must be gulvanized or stainless nail.

1. Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use.

2. Brush on evenly along the grain by planning the continuity of the paint area to avoid overlap. Do not load brush heavily.

3. Do not apply before, during or after raining and high humidity condition.

4. Ensure the first coat is dry before recoating.

5. Apply the first coat liberally, wipe off any surplus with a clean dry cloth.

6. For exterior wood apply not more than 2 coats,
for interior wood apply not more than 2 coats.
Normally the maximum 3 coats is recommended.
